Seaforth

In the outer suburbs of Wellington, this family home has been beautifully reimagined through a considered interior renovation that celebrates warmth,
texture, and craftsmanship.

Without expanding the existing footprint, our design team focused on reconfiguring the main living areas, removing only a few key walls to open the space and create a stronger sense of connection throughout.

The result is a home that feels both expansive and intimate - a seamless blend of modern functionality and timeless character.

From the outset, colour and texture were central to our clients’ vision. They wanted a home that felt inviting and harmonious, with layers of materials that added depth and personality. Soft, earthy tones and tactile finishes were chosen to enhance natural light and complement the home’s existing features. Every surface - from timber detailing to fabric selection - was carefully curated to evoke warmth and create a calm, cohesive atmosphere.

An integral part of the project was the thoughtful reuse of native timbers, a nod to the home’s original character. Reclaimed Rimu, salvaged and restored with care, features prominently throughout. Its rich grain can be found in custom cabinetry and the renewed original flooring, infusing the interiors with a sense of authenticity and continuity.
