A Family Home Built for the Future - South Karori Road

For Mary & Hayden this renovation was driven by a strong sense of belonging and a commitment to family life. As a much loved family home set within the close-knit Karori community, the decision to stay was an easy one. With their children growing and roots firmly established, relocating to a larger home just didn't make sense. Instead, the focus became investing in the home they already cherished while maintaining the connections they valued most.

Back to Business 2026

We’re back in business for 2026, and it’s already shaping up to be a big year. We’ve got some exciting things ahead, including a new build in Wilton where we’ll be getting hands-on with some seriously eco-friendly building methods. It’s a great opportunity for us to learn as much as we can about the latest approaches in the market and keep pushing how we build.

Our team has levelled up too, with six of our crew gaining new qualifications last year, we’re excited to put those freshly earned skills to the challenge and see what the team can really do. With more knowledge, more confidence, and the same strong work ethic, we’re ready to take on bigger projects and make 2026 a standout year.

Project Feature | Seaforth Terrace

The success of our Seaforth Terrace project has been truly a labour of love. From our initial client meeting in 2021, this major renovation has been carefully and thoughtfully executed, resulting in a warm, inviting home rich with colour and texture.

By reimagining the existing footprint rather than extending it, we were able to deliver a spacious family bathroom, laundry and kitchen along with open-plan living and dining areas. This project demonstrates that creating more functional and enjoyable spaces doesn't always require more square-meters, sometimes it just takes more considered design.

Info | The Double Gazing & Insulation Comparative

In our line of work we often meet people who have intended to invest in double glazing for their home. While double glazing is now a Building Code requirement, its not the silver bullet for existing and period homes that you might think.

When we talk double glazing we will use "R-Values" to describe their Thermal Resistance. Sometimes this can be a little confusing so just think of it in dollars and cents!

The R-Value of a single glazed window is $0.19 cents. If it was double glazed $0.39 cents. If you then compare this to a wall (cladding, framing, insulation & GIB), you'll be looking at $2.00 - That's a big jump right!?

Double glazing can be a significant investment in your property so before you commit to it, think about how your home could work better for you and if this may affect the window locations or layouts.

Windows are one home item that you should do it once and do it right!

Consumer NZ has a great article that explores alternate methods of heat retention, diagrams and comparatives.
