Situated in the low-lying wetland of Waikawa Beach, this 3-bedroom dwelling hovers above the long grass and provides a feeling of deliberate isolation.
The brief was to design and build a family styled bach with open plan living spaces, bedrooms sized for sleeping and a central amenity block for shower, WC and laundry.
The circumference of decking connects all interior spaces offering flexible outdoor living and easy building maintenance.
The dwelling is clad in a sustainably grown NZ Macrocarpa providing a rustic warmth reflecting the coastal landscape.
